Trip Highlights

You’ll get a taste of everything Munnar’s tea gardens and chill weather, Thekkady’s forest and spice plantation feels, Alleppey’s famous houseboat stay where you literally float through village life, and then there’s Kumarakom, which is more peaceful and raw. Towards the end, you’ll unwind at a beach town like Kovalam or Varkala, or maybe even hit Trivandrum just to wrap it with that coastal Kerala mood.

The whole trip is not too fast or hectic we keep it balanced. Some days are for chilling, like sitting near the lake or just enjoying the houseboat, and some are for sightseeing like waterfalls, viewpoints, temples, a bit of boating, cultural stuff etc. Evenings are usually relaxed either back at a comfy resort or strolling at a local market, maybe a little Kathakali show or local dinner spot if you’re up for it.

You’ll experience a lot of greenery like everywhere you go, nature just follows. Roads might get a little curvy in hill areas, but views make it worth it. Weather is mostly pleasant gets cool in the hills, and warmer as you reach coastal parts.

It’s more like a journey than a holiday where every stop has a different vibe. You’ll start with misty hills and end near the sea.

Great for couples, families, or even solo travellers who wanna just detox from the busy life and soak into something real and natural.
And ya food-wise, plenty of veg and non-veg options, local Kerala thali, appam-stew types, but you’ll also find North Indian and regular stuff in most tourist spots.

Overall calm, refreshing, a little adventurous, and very local. You’ll come back with your phone full of green photos and a mind that’s kinda lighter.

Day-wise Itinerary

So you’ll land in Kochi and we’ll keep this day light. After check-in, you can freshen up and if you’re up for it, head out in the evening to explore Fort Kochi side. It’s quite charming old churches, seaside walkway, Chinese fishing nets. Maybe grab some seafood or local café dinner nearby. Nothing rushed.

After breakfast, we’ll drive up to Munnar the road’s pretty scenic with waterfalls, tea estates, and spice plantations. You can stop at a few spots on the way like Cheeyappara falls. Once you reach Munnar, just relax maybe a walk near the resort or just enjoy the cool weather.

This day’s about exploring Munnar properly. We’ll cover places like Eravikulam National Park (if open), Tea Museum, Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point nice viewpoints, a bit of boating maybe. Day ends with sunset at Pothamedu or Top Station. Evenings are chill maybe a hot chai with mountain view.

After breakfast, drive down to Thekkady. Roads are again lush lots of green. After check-in, you can visit a spice plantation tour (they’ll show how cardamom, pepper grows etc.) and maybe a cultural show in the evening (Kathakali or Kalaripayattu both are fun to watch). If you’re okay with it, we can also book a jungle boat ride next morning.

Now comes the relaxing part today you’ll head to Alleppey and board a private houseboat by noon. From there, just enjoy the backwaters. The boat cruises through small canals, paddy fields, villages it’s peaceful. You’ll be served hot lunch, tea, dinner onboard. At night, the boat halts at a quiet spot. Super calming experience.

After breakfast, the boat drops you off and we take you to a nearby lake resort in Kumarakom. This day is very easy just chill by the lake, maybe a village walk or Ayurvedic massage if you feel like. Kumarakom has that untouched, raw Kerala vibe not touristy, just slow and peaceful.

Time for beach vibes! After breakfast, drive down towards Kovalam near Trivandrum. Check in and rest a bit. In the evening, you can explore the beach, maybe Lighthouse Beach watch the sunset, maybe try some local seafood at a beach shack. Easygoing day.

We can keep this flexible. Either enjoy a lazy day at the beach or take a short drive to Trivandrum city visit Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Napier Museum, a bit of local shopping maybe. Return to Kovalam by evening. Depends on your mood honestly both options are there.

This day is yours if you want, we can do a day trip to Varkala (around 1.5 hrs drive, very nice cliffs and beach vibe). Or you can just stay back at Kovalam, maybe take a spa session, enjoy the beach, relax at the resort. Totally your call.

Depending on your flight/train time, we’ll drop you to Trivandrum airport or station. Hopeful you leave with lots of green memories and calm energy

Frequently Asked Questions

Ya ya, absolutely safe. People are friendly and tourism is quite developed. Even late evenings in most tourist spots feel fine. Just usual travel precautions are enough.

Oct to March is perfect weather is pleasant, especially in the hills. Monsoon (June-Sept) is beautiful too, but more for nature lovers who don’t mind rain. Summer (April-May) gets hot in coastal areas but hill stations are still nice.

Yes, veg options are everywhere. You’ll get proper South Indian food dosa, idli, Kerala meals and most places also serve North Indian and even some international food. And for non-veg lovers, Kerala seafood is a must-try!

In Munnar and Thekkady areas, roads are curvy so if someone has motion sickness, better to carry a tablet like Avomine. Rest of the trip (like Alleppey, Kovalam) is smooth and flat. We also take regular breaks while driving.

100%. It’s one of the most peaceful and unique experiences in Kerala. You just sit, relax and watch the backwaters and village life pass by. Food is freshly made onboard too. If you prefer resort stay, that’s also possible we can adjust.

Nothing fancy light cotton clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a cap maybe. For Munnar/Thekkady, carry one light jacket. And if you’re doing houseboat or beach, keep slippers and something comfy. Umbrella or raincoat is good if it’s monsoon.
